Expert's opinions

Still going strong, this black cherry, blackberry, tobacco and floral scented wine was a treat to experience. Very elegant in style, medium bodied with ample ripe, black and red fruit in the finish awarded a lot of pleasure at 20 years of age.

An extremely friendly '89. Good dark-ruby color. Seductive aromas of berries, flowers and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a berry, coconut and milk chocolate aftertaste.

Jean-Marc Quarin March - 1991
Jean-Marc Quarin
Black colour. Violet-tinged. Brilliant. Clean and intense nose, oaky with an exotic character of very ripe fruit. Notes of eucalyptus, plum, then balsamic. Interesting. When swirled, clean and intense. Fruity with strong bay leaf notes. Soft attack. Supple, slightly soft structure. Evolution towards flavours of fairly fresh wood and spice leading to a long, fresh finish with savoury, rich tannins. A wine that expresses itself more on the finish, but lacking the flesh of the 90. Could be riper.
