(4-2000) The dark ruby-colored 1997 is impossibly tannic, with a tough texture and lean constitution. Paradoxically, the wine has weight, ripeness, and richness, but its dry, astringent finish is reminiscent of a 1998 Medoc. This wine's development is questionable, and I have serious reservations about its ratio of tannin to fruit. It may turn out to be excellent, but patience will be required.

(1-2000) A solid wine. Good dried cherry and berry aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with light tannins and a fruity finish. Perhaps not as impressive as in barrel.

Château Lafleur
Château Lafleur
Château Lafleur: This small 4.5-hectare vineyard, located in the Pomerol appellation, produces Château Lafleur wine, which is certainly one of the rarest and most sought-after wines. Made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc (50% each), the wines of Château Lafleur are of exceptional quality. All these factors, along with limited production (an average of 12,000 bottles, one of the smallest in Pomerol along with Le Pin), explain the high prices of Château Lafleur.
