(4-2000) The dark ruby-colored 1997 is impossibly tannic, with a tough texture and lean constitution. Paradoxically, the wine has weight, ripeness, and richness, but its dry, astringent finish is reminiscent of a 1998 Medoc. This wine's development is questionable, and I have serious reservations about its ratio of tannin to fruit. It may turn out to be excellent, but patience will be required.

(1-2000) A solid wine. Good dried cherry and berry aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with light tannins and a fruity finish. Perhaps not as impressive as in barrel.

Château Lafleur
Château Lafleur
Chateau Lafleur: This small vineyard of 4.5 hectares, located on the Pomerol appellation, the wine of Château Lafleur is certainly one of the rarest wines and the most sought. Made from merlot and cabernet franc (50% and 50%), the wines of Chateau Lafleur are of a quality out-of-common. All these elements and limited production (averaging 12,000 bottles, one of the smallest with Le Pin Pomerol) explain the high price of Château Lafleur.
