Expert's opinions

Information on the vintage 1993 red Burgundy : 4/5 I had forgotten how attractive the 1993s were , still are, until assembling my notes. Most wines are ready but the most tannic still hav ea little way to go.

Maison Louis Jadot

The Maison Louis Jadot is a producer-negociant located in Beaune, Burgundy. The Beaune vineyard, situated between Savigny les Beaune in the North and Pommard in the South, is the largest in the Côte de Beaune. There are no Grand Crus in this commune, but 36 Premier Crus.

In 1826, the Jadot family purchased a plot of Beaune Premier Cru des Ursules. Then a few years later, in 1859, the Domain was founded by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. By developing wine trade towards Northern European markets, he already contributed at that time to the renown of Burgundy wines. Since then, several generations have succeeded in managing this family estate.

In 1900, Louis Jean-Baptiste Jadot acquired several plots for the estate: Corton Pougets, Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles.

Madame Jadot made the decision to sell the family estate in 1985 to Rudy Kopf. Since 1992, Pierre-Henry Gagey has been managing the Maison Louis Jadot and in 2014, his son Thibault joined him as Deputy General Manager of the estate. Their vision remains the same: to produce quality and accessible Burgundy wines.
