Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2000

Red. Bordeaux. Evolving on the rim. Clean. Medium intensity. Notes of resin and cooked or candied fruit. Despite everything, it remains fresh and without heaviness. Similar. Intense. Supple attack, developing on a medium body and rather smooth in its texture. The flavor is that described on the nose. Flavorful finish on a fairly complex note of resin and a more empyreumatic touch. At the end of the palate, the grain of the tannin is a bit rustic.

Medium-garnet color. Aromas of plums, berries and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with medium, slightly dry tannins and an astringent finish. Not very interesting for this estate.

Château Haut Batailley
Château Haut Batailley

Château Haut-Batailley is a 22-hectare Bordeaux wine estate located in Pauillac, Gironde. It produces Fifth Classified Growths according to the 1855 Médoc classification.

The estate was purchased by the Borie family, who also own Châteaux Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Ducru-Beaucaillou. Currently managed by François-Xavier Borie, the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in oak barrels, partially new (30 to 40% depending on the year). The second wine is called Château La Tour L'Aspic.
