Harmonious - a bouquet of real quality; rich, full-bodied (13,5%alcohol), soft, fleshy fruit, extract masking tannin. Lovely wine

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Dazzling since birth, the 1995 has not lost a thing since bottling. A saturated dark purple color suggests a wine of considerable depth and concentration. The nose offers up gorgeous aromas of sweet kirsch intermixed with black raspberry, mineral, and smoky notes. Full-bodied, with superb richness and purity, loads of tannin, and a layered, multidimensional personality, this terrific La Fleur-Petrus is the finest wine I have tasted at this property in the twenty years I have been visiting Bordeaux. Readers may remember that I previously reported that a 10-acre old vine sector of Le Gay was sold to La Fleur-Petrus, increasing the latter's vineyard to 33 acres. I believe this 10-acre acquisition has beefed up La Fleur-Petrus, a fact particularly evident in this 1995. It is a splendid effort!

Young, dark ruby/black color. Very seductive nose, earthy, spicy, and red fruit (berries and plums), with round and creamy oak aromas. Young and tight on the palate, it has high tannins and acidity, but also a depth of peppery and red fruit notes, and a very nice length.

Initial aromas of violet, cocoa, and cherry soil gave way to blackberry, cigar box, truffle, and kirsch. After three hours in the glass, the dusty tannins developed into a pleasantly dry palate with fresh blackberries on the finish. This wine will have a long lifespan. It has the necessary structure to age for at least another 15 to 20 years. However, it will always retain the tannic signature of the vintage with its refined, masculine expression of Pomerol.

Brick-red robe. An exceptional bouquet, generous and rich, with notes of honey and strawberry jam. This sensation continues on the palate. The wine develops a rich aroma and fine tannins with a long persistence.

Neighbor of Petrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a remarkable Pomerol, fine and round, one of the greatest Pomerols, absolutely essential and still accessible, if one can say so. The terroir of Château La Fleur-Pétrus fully plays its role, with a soil of deep gravel that imparts natural elegance and finesse to the wine. The Cabernet Franc, used in larger quantities, gives a superb result, with wines that should be waited for almost ten years!
