(9-2012) Still with faint bubbles, lush yellow in color. Nose of marzipan, malt and honey, got better with air. Very full palate yet atill got life left. Good and big champagne but might have been better a few years ago. Dom in the 60s are amazing.

(2001) A great wine. Now yellow gold with very light, very fine bubbles; slightly smoky, meaty nose, touch of fungi, elegant straw, very good flavour, length and excellent acidity.

Dom Perignon

Dom Pérignon is a legendary Champagne House and one of the most renowned in the world. In 1668, a young Benedictine monk, Dom Pierre Pérignon, was appointed procurator at the Abbey of Hautvillers. With the ambition to produce the "best wine in the world", he was deeply inspired and his vision revolutionized viticulture with standards that remain the reference for all champagne wines. The House's commitment is that champagnes can only be produced from a single year's harvest.

Dom Pérignon's productions were highly prized at that time. After Dom Pérignon's death, the price decreased somewhat, but not its popularity. The 1921 vintage is undoubtedly the best vintage. Dom Pérignon champagnes have very long aging potential.
