This is quite an amazing Sauternes with lots of substance, a singular nose Sauternes purists might not like but I find intellectually quite appealing, nice tertiary aromas and a good freshness. Towards the finish, the wine is a bit heavy and slightly cloying but nevertheless, this was a lot of fun to drink Extremely singular nose which smells like citrus syrup with some particular spice (not sure what exactly). Quite intriguing but of course not the best nose you could wish for in a Sauternes. More typical on the palate with lots of saffron, toffee, mushrooms, citrus, apple, quince and spices. Very precise and quite intense but with lots of freshness. As mentioned above, only towards the end this gets a bit cloying. But all in all, this is a great wine.

Straw yellow color. Intense. Bright. Intense, complex nose. Captivating. Floral note then caramel. On swirling, note of ethyl acetate. Soft, supple attack. Development on a full, concentrated structure that evolves towards a harder note, slightly bitter, woody, toasted where one finds the hard note of the nose. Long persistence but without the brilliance of the 62.

Château La Tour Blanche

Château La Tour Blanche is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces sweet white wines. Made from the traditional Sauternes grape varieties, Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle, this wine is the result of strict selection. The Château La Tour Blanche harvest is carried out through successive "passes" requiring 5 to 6 passes through the same row, to obtain only the best of Noble Rot.

Premier Cru Classé from Sauternes, each vintage of Château La Tour Blanche is vinified and aged in entirely new French oak barrels, and is kept for 20 to 24 months. However, the extreme quality policy at Château La Tour Blanche has led to certain vintages deemed merely passable not being bottled. This was the case for the 1992, 1993 and 2000 vintages. The average annual production is 40,000 bottles.
