The 2012 Côtes du Roussillon Villages La Petite Sibérie is a Grenache-dominated release that’s aged in new oak. About as sexy as they come, with a deep, voluptuous and layered mouth feel, this awesome 2012 gives up overflowing notes of black raspberry, crème de cassis, toasted spice, licorice and hints of vanilla bean. While not as classically styled as the Le Clos des Fees release, it should evolve for just as long.

Founded in 1997 in Vingrau by Hervé Bizeul, former Best Young Sommelier of France, the Domaine du Clos des Fées has become in a single generation one of the benchmarks of Roussillon. Across a mosaic of old vines spread across seven terroirs in the Pyrénées-Orientales, it produces dense and fresh reds under the AOP Côtes du Roussillon and IGP Côtes Catalanes appellations, dominated by grenache, syrah, carignan and mourvèdre, as well as the cult micro-cuvée La Petite Sibérie, made from old grenache vines.

Among the estate's greatest years, the 2011 vintage and 2012 established its reputation, the 2016 wine ranks among its pinnacles, while the 2022 and 2023 carry the brilliance of recent harvests.
