This 66' is all bordeaux, resolved, and rather sweet, while having a great tannic presence that drives a long and clean snobbish finish.

Fully mature, with loads of smoke, cigar box, burning campfire, olive tapanade, truffle and cherry notes, the medium/full bodied, soft, silky wine felt great on the palate. This is a really nice example of a fully mature Bordeaux that will not break the bank.

Jean-Marc Quarin May - 2001

Dark red color. Evolved. Medium intensity nose. Nice nose. Fine. Tobacco. A note of bell pepper. More animal when swirled. A bit greener too. It's a wine from before with its share of greenness and riper fruit. However, the aromatic note is fine and the balance very good. The tannin, discreet, melts on the finish with a touch of coffee. And, rare until now, there is aromatic persistence. This is a very good sign.

Château Lascombes
Château Lascombes

Château Lascombes is a wine estate located in Margaux, Gironde. In the Médoc AOC, it is classified as a Second Growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The 50 hectares of Château Lascombes vineyard (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot) benefit from deep gravel terroirs. Every year, Château Lascombes estate practices green harvesting to improve the quality of the wines, achieving greater concentration. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with malolactic fermentation of Merlots in barrels. The wine is aged for 18 months in 60% new oak barrels, followed by egg white fining.
