(06-2009) I was very favorably surprised by the fruity, smoky and creamy nose. A nose of Margaux, I said to myself. Dense and melted palate. Very pleasant wine to drink at the moment.

90 / 100

Tome Cannavan (01-1999) Very dark, even, purple/black. Gorgeous nose. Big and barnyardy with meaty, gamey, truffle scents and coffee-bean oak. Creamy and exotic. palate is very closed and hard to see past massive tannic structure but there is a solid depth of plummy fruit in there and a fine, long finish.

2-4/5 Information on the vintage 1996 red Bordeaux: Though upstaged by the attractive 1995s, this vintage is better than it was first made out to be, and improves greatly on acquaintance. Indeed, after looking through my notes, I think it is a seriously underrated vintage.
