Nicolas Joly is a famous wine producer from the Loire Valley. Nicolas Joly is the pioneer of biodynamics, which is why, since 1984, he has adopted and implemented the principles of biodynamic viticulture from the vines to the bottling of his wines. It produces three wines from three different appellations:

  • “La Coulée de Serrant”, Coulée de Serrant appellation, monopoly of the Joly family
  • “Le Clos de la Bergerie”, Savennières-Roche aux Moines appellation
  • “Les Vieux Clos”, Savennières appellation

The three appellations come from the Chenin grape variety. The wood of the vines replanted for 10 years comes from the oldest vines of the Coulée de Serrant (around 1920). The Coulée de Serrant is now known worldwide for its rarity and quality. It is in itself an appellation contrôlée of only 7 hectares.
