Expert's opinions

3-(10-1984) Pink-cheeked; sweet, chocolatey, scented bouquet; drying out and a bit hard for a 1970, but probably more to come.

Domaine Comte Georges de Voguë

The wines of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé are at the pinnacle of Burgundy and Côte de Nuits wines. They can only be compared with the greatest: Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Leroy, Dugat-Py, ... These are undoubtedly exceptional wines that fully justify the worldwide reputation they have acquired. The origins of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé date back to 1450. The estate has been passed down from generation to generation, remaining in the same family. Count Georges de Vogüé directed it from 1925 until his death in 1987. His daughter Elisabeth surrounded herself with a high-level team, and the wines continue to improve in quality. The wines of Domaine Comte de Vogüé are long-lasting wines that require patience, especially in the best years. Dense, firm, and structured, with exceptional concentration, they develop all their qualities of finesse and delicacy over time. At any moment, they display silkiness and elegance. We are here in the realm of truly great wines for serious connoisseurs.
