The 1964 is a lovely wine that is round, generous, velvety, and deeply fruity. It has a very sweet, ripe bouquet of fruit, oak, and truffles, soft, amply endowed flavors, medium to full body, and a long, silky finish. It remains a sumptuously rich, intensely flavored wine (from a magnum).

Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol, Bordeaux. The property is Vieux Chateau Certan located in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. The vineyards of Chateau Vieux Certan is composed of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. This vine can be explained by the desire to find the best possible balance between Merlot and Cabernet Franc. On the soil of Old Castle Certan, Cabernet Franc reached a level of maturity and quality simply outstanding. Owned by the Thienpont family for nearly a century, Vieux Chateau Certan is directed by Alexandre Thienpont has made this area one of the biggest names in Pomerol. A great concentration and a sumptuous palette of aromas characterize the style of Old Castle Certan. The estate produces a second wine offers: Gravette of Certan.
