Expert's opinions

17.5/20
Jancis Robinson
(03.2011) Bright ruby. Very sweet and rich – even a bit heavy. Certainly solid with a powerful grip. A tiny bit thick and syrupy but admirably persistent.

Domaine Jean Louis Trapet

The Trapet Père et Fils estate is a French wine estate that produces Burgundy wines, Burgundy Premier Crus and Burgundy Grand Crus.

Founded in 1919 and located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the Jean Trapet Père et Fils estate has risen to the top during the 20th century.

The family estate spans over 15 hectares of vineyards, including 13.5 in Pinot Noir for red wines and 1.5 in Chardonnay for white wines. The estate's vines are 35 years old on average and harvesting is done by hand in respect of winemaking traditions.

The estate is famous for its three Burgundy Grand Crus: Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Gevrey-Chambertin.

The wines from Trapet Père et Fils estate have good aging potential.
