Minty aromas, with an excellent concentration of currant, blackberry and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a dense palate, with lots of fruit. Powerful. Still needs time to open, but a beautiful and serious claret. Slightly one-dimensional still.
Deep ruby in color, with a spicy, blackcurrant-scented bouquet, the full-bodied 1988 exhibits good depth and structure, but it will need 4-5 years in the bottle to shed its toughness.
