Exuberant nose of cedar, cigar box, undergrowth, red fruit, some mushrooms and leather. It's almost divine, without a fault. The palate is captivating, from the start powerful aromas of fruit, spices, mushrooms, this smoky tobacco side and a dose of flowers. The mid-palate is powerful, balanced, suave, it's alive and even clearly has some potential left! The classic mature Bordeaux finish, fruit, spices, cedar, leather... a nice length, but above all what a beautiful complexity. A surprising wine, I expected an old Bordeaux but instead I received a little dose of magic in the face! Old wines are often a roll of the dice... here I had a beautiful bottle!

Red-brown color. The nose presents a pleasant bouquet of evolution. Notes of cedar, red fruits, undergrowth. Smooth and melted mouth without any tannin. The wine is still fruity. It pleases for its caress while remaining of an average body. Very Margaux style. Elegant finish of average length. To drink.

Better on the nose, with its earthy, tobacco, cigar box, cedar and cherry character, than on the palate, which like many wines from this vintage is on the strict side. This is a wine for consumers that prefer their Bordeaux on the classic side of the style range. The wine was made from a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

Smooth and succulent, with attractive earth, tobacco and cassis aromas and flavors. Despite its intensity and concentration, it never loses its sense of balance and harmony. Drinkable now but better if you can cellar it longer.

Sweeter and more plummy on the nose than the 1985. More cedary but also cassis and dark chocolate/mocha. Seems far more youthful than the 1985. More primary dark fruit. Firmer, fuller and less perfumed but still with a fine freshness. Fine-grained tannins still have some grip though they taste fully ripe. More powerful than the 1985, less scented but more fruit. Grip on the finish is just a little dry.

Château Palmer
Château Palmer

The Château Palmer, is a french estate located in the Gironde Cantenac Margaux. In Margaux appellation, it is ranked third classified growth in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855. The Château Palmer Grand Cru is a matter of origin in time and in space. The style of Château Palmer, steeped in history and dedicated to the expression of its terroir, fashions and trends over. To prove its timelessness no better way than to taste.

The Château Palmer reveals an extraordinarily complex bouquet that combines fruits, flowers, spices, wrapped in a generous and fleshy structure. This subtle balance between wealth and power aromatic tannins, still held, in fact a wine of incomparable charm from an early age. His persistence leaves an intoxicating sensations and emotions mixed.
