Hospice de Beaune
The Hospice de Beaune wine estate spans 61 hectares of highly reputed vineyards. These are all choice vineyards because, from each donation, the Hospices have only kept what was worthy of their renown. The vines are scattered across almost all the communes of the Côte de Beaune: Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Beaune, Volnay, Pommard, Monthelie, Auxey-Duresses, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The cuvées, which once bore the names of their winemakers, were given the names of the main donors at the end of the last century as a token of gratitude from the Hospices. The cultivation methods of the Hospices de Beaune are those that the past has sanctioned through experience and that science has modernized in the exclusive pursuit of quality. High yields are prohibited and the red wines are produced exclusively from the "Pinot Noir" grape that has made Burgundy's reputation.
