(01-2000). A delicious red, with plum, berry and tobacco character. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a sweet fruit finish. Lovely.
(06-1999). Medium intensity. Slight change. Net. Medium intensity. Smoked. Café. Bright. Vintage lovers will not be disappointed in the matter of this well-rounded wine where the fruit is part of the material is not fresh but the taste is not pourautant wooded, although I guess this is the wood wine. Round and spicy. Persistence on the timber. I do not know but I say that 97 is successful.
(04-2000). I had this wine on three occasions, and was surprised that it did not possess more stuffing and intensity. While good, it is not up to this chateau's usual standards. The aggressively woody 1997 Haut-Marbuzet reveals a hollow mid-section, but it does offer soft, ripe, coffee, earthy, black cherry fruit presented in a pleasant, medium-bodied format. A bit more concentration, extract, and length would have been preferable.
