Dark red. Bright. Beautiful. Clean. Medium intensity. Discreet. Fruity. Fine touch of chocolate and cherry. Interesting. Quite expressive in this vintage, which is nevertheless poor in aroma. Soft attack developing on an airy structure and rather very fruity, comparable to Haut-Bages-Libéral in its mouthfeel. The wine develops slowly, full of fruit, on good concentration and finishes very pleasantly, tannic but without harshness, always flavorful and quite fine. Fruity, spicy and creamy persistence. Beautiful successful wine without austerity. It recalls the fine presentation of the 97s. A success!

Château Grand Puy Ducasse is a 40-hectare wine estate located in Pauillac, Gironde. The vineyard is spread over three plots situated on the best terroirs of Pauillac. Château Grand Puy Ducasse is ranked among the fifth growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The best wines from Château Grand Puy Ducasse are the 1945 wines and 1947, the 1949 wines, 1959 great growths, the 1961 and 1967 vintages. The 1975 vintages, 1982 and 1985 are particularly successful. Finally, the 1995 wines, 1998 and 2000 vintages, as well as the 2009 classified growths are considered exceptional years.
