The 1979 is an elegant, supple, very fruity wine, with the smell of ripe plums and spicy, vanillin oak very prominently displayed. Medium bodied, with medium to dark ruby color and a lush, nicely concentrated texture, this is not a big, hefty, rich Pomerol, but rather a suave, delicate, yet fruity, interesting wine.
The second of the four great '79s; deep, intense, lively looking, rich 'legs'. Crisp, 'soft fruit' charater; rich, rounded, fleshy, tannic.
