Wow - this is a surprise! A dumb, slightly liquorice nose but then a delicious toasty palate with fine concentration and balance. Thick ripe black fruits, quite smokey with cigar box notes. A lovely finish. Bravo!

Château de Fieuzal
Château de Fieuzal, Cru Classé, Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. Château de Fieuzal is a wine estate located in Léognan, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. Château de Fieuzal belonged to Gérard Griberlin for 25 years, who installed new winemaking equipment at its beginnings. Blessed with favorable terroir and thriving vines, Château Fieuzal has produced superb vintages and has sometimes faced challenges. Since 2001, Château Fieuzal has been owned by Irish businessman Lochaln Quinn. Together with his director Stephen Carrier, they form a dynamic duo that continuously strives to elevate the wine's quality and offer enthusiasts vintages worthy of its rank and past reputation. Château Fieuzal also produces a second red wine, L'Abeille de Fieuzal.
