Medium/full yellow. Aroma of honey/herbs, whiff of smoke. Quite an oaky bottle, with vanilla, lemon, greengage, toasted nuts and ginger spice flavours. Touch of melon. Delicious.

Still slightly cloudy in color. Pale yellow-green. Clean, intense and refined nose. Notes of boxwood, crushed nettle, mainly pear and grapefruit. Very pleasant with a hint of peach skin. Lots and lots of fruit. Very clear on swirling. Intense. Pear and peach. Very fruity. Soft, supple attack that develops on a tender, slightly soft and very aromatic structure where fruit and oak aromas combine wonderfully from the very first sip. Toasty, oaky finish, very, very long but more marked by the smoky character of the oak than the richness of the fruit. Great aromatic persistence.

Like many 1989 white Graves, de Fieuzal does not quite have the grip and delineation one expects because of the vintage's low acidity. Nevertheless, this has still turned out to be one of the most successful wines of the vintage. It is a rich, honeyed, smoky-scented wine with wonderfully ripe apple and melon-like flavors.

Château de Fieuzal, Cru Classé, Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. Château de Fieuzal is a wine estate located in Léognan, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. Château de Fieuzal belonged to Gérard Griberlin for 25 years, who installed new winemaking equipment at its beginnings. Blessed with favorable terroir and thriving vines, Château Fieuzal has produced superb vintages and has sometimes faced challenges. Since 2001, Château Fieuzal has been owned by Irish businessman Lochaln Quinn. Together with his director Stephen Carrier, they form a dynamic duo that continuously strives to elevate the wine's quality and offer enthusiasts vintages worthy of its rank and past reputation. Château Fieuzal also produces a second red wine, L'Abeille de Fieuzal.
