Big and juicy, with loads of ripe fruit and big velvet tannins. Full, round and gorgeous. Fantastic. Soft with sweeter fruit. Lovely texture. Always a beauty. '89'90 Bordeaux non-blind horizontal.

Château L'Eglise Clinet
Château l'Eglise Clinet, like many Pomerol estates, owes its name to its proximity to the commune's church, which sits majestically among the vineyards. Despite its low media profile due to its very limited production, Château l'Eglise Clinet remains one of the very best in the Pomerol appellation, on par with Château l'Evangile or Château la Conseillante. Ideally located on the deep soils of the Pomerol plateau, the vines of Château l'Eglise Clinet are survivors of the great frost of 1956, which led to the uprooting of most of the appellation's vines. This small Pomerol gem was exploited by Pierre Lasserre, who also owned Clos René in Pomerol. In the early 1980s, the perfectionist Denis Durantou took over the 6 hectares of vines (averaging 45 years old). Château l'Eglise Clinet also produces a second wine called La Petite Eglise.
