Château L'Eglise Clinet

Créer une alerte

Château l'Eglise Clinet, like many Pomerol estates, owes its name to its proximity to the town's church, which sits majestically among the vineyards. Despite its low media profile due to its very limited production, Château l'Eglise Clinet remains one of the very best in the Pomerol appellation, on par with Château l'Evangile or Château la Conseillante. Ideally located on the deep soils of the Pomerol plateau, the vines of Château l'Eglise Clinet are survivors of the great frost of 1956, which led to the uprooting of most vines in the appellation. This small Pomerol gem was operated by Pierre Lasserre, who also owned Clos René in Pomerol. In the early 1980s, the perfectionist Denis Durantou took over the 6 hectares of vines (averaging 45 years old). Château l'Eglise Clinet also produces a second wine called La Petite Eglise.
