(02-2016) Light golden yellow, fine mousse. Delicately scented brioche notes, ripe pear hints, peach, orange zest, and a dash of honey. Juicy, elegant, some quince jelly hints, filigree structure, citrusy, saline-mineral finish, reverberations of lime, great aromatic depth, very youthful, compelling length.
(07-2011) Tasted at the Bollinger RD vertical in Paris. There is something regal about the nose: very well defined and complex with just a hint of wild mushroom, more Girolles than Chanterelles with subtle notes of nectarine, stone fruit, marmalade and a touch of lightly burnt toast. The palate is just superb with citrus lemon, Clementine, minerals, crisp lime and a hint of marmalade. It is very harmonious and focused, long and persistency towards the shimmering finish. Spectacular: an RD in fine fettle!
(06-2019) Dark gold. A little bit of oxidation. Then the mushrooms and lots of dried fruit. Classic RD? Probably not to everyone’s taste but very true to the house style. Broad and still very good, fine mousse.
