Massive, with loads of ripe fruit and polished tannins. Full-bodied, with exotic flavors of berry and raspberry highlighted by chocolate and vanilla. Still needs time to mellow, but it's a roller coaster of flavors across your palate.

(8-1993) The bouquet of the blackrubypurple-colored 1988 remains tight, but with swirling, one can detect scents of smoky, toasty oak, black plums, allspice, and Asian spices. There are gobs of super-ripe fruit in this extremely concentrated wine. Very structured, with considerable tannin, this massive, full-bodied 1988 will provide a dazzling glass of decadent Pomerol.

Château Château la Fleur De Gay
Château la Fleur De Gay
Château la Fleur de Gay, whose Cru was created in 1982 by Noël Raynaud from 3 hectares of La Croix de Gay. The plot of old Merlot vines is close to Lafleur and Petrus, at the top of the Pomerol plateau. Chantal Lebreton took over from her father Noël Raynaud, who passed away after the 1997 harvest. Supported by her mother and brother, Dr. Alain Raynaud (Château Quinault), she continues a long family tradition dating back to the 15th century... Château la Fleur de Gay ages its wine 100% in new oak. A very high-level wine typical of charming and expressive Merlots. Its natural concentration favors long aging.
