(1-2007). The color is golden. The nose is intense, slightly animal, it smells of meat, dried fruits. It is not oxidized but it leans slightly towards oxidation. On swirling, dried fruits dominate. Rich on the palate, very smooth, this wine develops a flavor of dried fruits. Fresh white fruits have disappeared. The finish is slightly tannic and recalls a note of lime blossom and wood. The length is good.

Château Smith Haut-Lafitte is a 68-hectare wine estate located in Martillac, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. The terroir consists of Günzian gravel, with vines averaging 30 years old. For red wines, the grape composition is 34% Merlot, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. For white wines, it's 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Sémillon. The planting density ranges from 7,500 to 10,000 vines per hectare. The vineyard covers 56 hectares, with 45 hectares for red wine and 11 hectares for white wine.
