Tom Cannavan (01-2001) Another good performance from a less expensive wine, with plenty of spicy bramble fruit on the nose and a hint of smoky ash, then fine, sweet and weighty black fruits on the palate and a good tannin and acid structure. Impressive.
(06-2010) Fully mature, this nice chunky, fleshy wine displays notes of jus de viande, roasted herbs, plum sauce, black currants, and sweet cherries in a medium-bodied, savory, fruit-forward style. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
(07-2016) Dark, intense and slightly evolved color. Aromatic, fruity and truffle nose. Very fruity, slender palate with a somewhat firm structure. The finish narrows and ends austere. Lack of charm for the vintage. Blend: 50% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 10% cabernet franc. Aging in 20% new oak.
Opaque; curious mixutre of citrus and meat on nose and palate. Very flavoury.
