Tom Cannavan (01-2001) Another good performance from a less expensive wine, with plenty of spicy bramble fruit on the nose and a hint of smoky ash, then fine, sweet and weighty black fruits on the palate and a good tannin and acid structure. Impressive.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Fully mature, this nice chunky, fleshy wine displays notes of jus de viande, roasted herbs, plum sauce, black currants, and sweet cherries in a medium-bodied, savory, fruit-forward style. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

Jean-Marc Quarin July - 2016
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark color, intense and slightly evolved. Aromatic, fruity and truffled nose. Very fruity palate, slender, with a somewhat firm structure. The finish narrows and ends austere. Lacks charm for the vintage. Blend: 50% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 10% cabernet franc. Aged in 20% new oak.

Opaque; curious mixutre of citrus and meat on nose and palate. Very flavoury.

Château Ormes de Pez
Owned by the Cazes family since the middle of the last century, Les Ormes de Pez surrounds the prestigious Pez locality. While the emblematic tree of French agriculture has almost disappeared, the wine has built a solid reputation. Acquired in 1940 by Jean-Charles Cazes, the vineyard now extends over 37 hectares on Garonne gravel soils. The vineyard management and winemaking techniques combine the best of tradition and modernity to create harmonious wines with a spicy and voluptuous character, authentic expressions of their appellation's terroir. Under the care of the Lynch-Bages team, Château Les Ormes de Pez produces an authentic, opulent and massive Saint-Estèphe. The Indian summer was particularly favorable and brings freshness, body and smoothness. Les Ormes de Pez offers us a wine of rare balance, to be enjoyed immediately or left to age for a few years.
