Expert's opinions
Deep nose of spices, licorice and dried cherries with a pronounced flinty note. Cool and sleek but with impressive concentration for the 2021 vintage, this already has wonderful harmony right through the long, structured and stony finish. Bottled with low sulfur addition and unfiltered.

Gismondi on Wine : Tight and buzzy, this is lofted with iris, crunchy plum, raspberry, and perfumed cherry, framed with finely buzzy tannins and lit with an intrinsic minerality, easily streaming this to a lingering, saline finish. If you think Morgon is a brooding, built, darker shaded wine for the cellar only, please do try this, though give it some time to open.

Aromas of plums, cherries and berries introduce Lapierre's 2021 Morgon, a light to medium-bodied, supple wine built around tangy acids and concluding with a rather abrupt finish. Despite that—and much like its 2020 predecessor—it's among the purer and more precise renditions of this bottling in recent years, and it will offer thirst-quenching, uncomplicated drinking this summer and next.
