Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Château Mouton Rothschild 1986 : It has a powerful and intense bouquet as always: exemplary graphite and cedar scents, a touch of black pepper and incense. It seems to unwind in the glass, like an engine revving its motor. The palate is beautifully balanced with its characteristic firm tannic structure, a Mouton-Rothschild with structure and masculinity. Layers of dark fruit intertwined with mint and graphite, a hint of licorice from the Merlot, unfolding gently and my goodness, it is incredibly long. It is not like the 1985 Mouton-Rothschild which is so fleshy and generous. This is a serious, aristocratic Mouton, a real wine for laying down and yes, I think drinkers will have to wait for it to reach its true peak. Sometimes, that's how it is.

Falstaff June - 2020
Falstaff
Château Haut Brion 1990: Strong ruby garnet, good color depth, violet reflections, delicate watery rim. Delicately spicy, black and red berries, candied mandarin peel, spicy tobacco notes. Juicy, extremely fresh and elegant, finesse-rich structure, chocolatey tannins, very long persistence, mineral notes on the finish, tension-laden, sweet juniper, certain potential for the future. Great class.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Château Margaux 2002 : Very refined on the nose... definitely premier cru quality with a lovely floral scent. Margaux? Black cherries, a touch of cassis, violet and wild hedgerow. Superb clarity. Ripe and succulent attack, very pure and very harmonious with filigree tannins and a natural and graceful finish that belies its power.
