This is a great wine, which will age almost indefinitely. What makes this wine so great is its complex mix of intense fresh fruits, flavors of pink grapefruit and subtle wood. But there is also a depth of acidity, which shows how well this wine will age.

The Blanc was poor but the rouge is very fine. A bold upfront nose of cassis and blueberry. Lots of creamy vanillary New Oak here. An elegant palate with good structure and balance. Quite and aristocratic wine: very stylish with good vigour. Definitely one of the better Graves wines.

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Harvested 2 to 15 October. Deeper, brighter colour with brick at the rim. Faint red-fruit aroma. Sweet and round on the palate (seems like there’s more Merlot but there isn’t) but not much drive. Slightly warm and flat on the finish.

Strong ruby red with violet reflections and broad ochre-colored rim. Aromas of blackberries, cassis and licorice, mandarin peel and underlying herbal notes. Medium complexity, red cherries, subtle hints of nougat caramel, delicate acidity, mineral and salty on the finish. Accessible and substantial, but somehow not very charming.

Good acidity, ripe tannins, great structure, well balanced, very attractive with this herbal touch and paprika overtones over cool and fresh fruit, and lively long length. Can keep further.

Ripe entry on the palate, chewy tannins, herbaceous leafy element inflecting the slightly disjointed finish. Not bad, but it would benefit from more focus and refinement. Tasted October 2009.
