Wine Enthusiast December - 2023

Fresh aromatic layers of mint sit atop crushed red cherries and wild strawberries, with light clove and thyme on the nose. The palate is rich and enticing with black cherries, plums, rhubarb, pomegranate seeds, black olives and freshly picked rosemary leaves. Tremendous texture, structure, and refreshing acidity carry this wine to a robust finish of orange zest and black tea leaves.

Tasted blind. An earthy nose, bags of dark fruit with a real sense of minerality and smoked game. Piercing purity and freshness with elegant refined honed tannins, a saline mid palate with vibrant blue fruits. So much intensity and power here – elegant and superbly balanced.

Maison Delas Frères
Maison Delas Frères

The Maison Delas et frères was founded in 1835 in Tournon-sur-Rhône. Managed by the Delas family until 1977, the estate was then acquired by the family-owned company Champagnes Deutz.

It is therefore Fabrice who is now at the helm of Deutz/Delas.

The Domaine Delas Frères operates several plots in different appellations. The estate currently comprises 32 hectares: 10 hectares in Hermitage, 17 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage, and 2 hectares in Saint-Joseph. The Domaine owns vines that are approximately 40 years old and carries out its harvests by hand.
