Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Eclipsing the superlative 1962 and 1967 with the passage of time, Coutet's 1976 Coutet is stunning today, bursting from the glass with aromas of apricot, pineapple, confit citrus, beeswax, saffron and vanilla pod. Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's layered and vibrant, with a satiny attack and a seamless, lated mid-palate, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish.

Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2014

Having just tasted an average 1976 Yquem, I expected to be disappointed. Not at all! Golden color. Fruity and still fresh nose. Certainly the mouth does not have the airy aspect of the greatest, but for all that the wine is neither dry nor compact. Fruity, dense, still young, it finishes tasty on a normal length. A successful association with the Cannelloni of duck confit.

(1-2014) Grilled nuts, roasted apricot, vanilla. Opulent mouth, the finish is less complex and spicy. An atypical vintage. More dried fruit flavors than noble rot. A great bottle however.

Much liked in 1996, 1998 and 2000 its colour more golden, but not deepm herbaceous, grassy, cress-likem lovely flavour and its acidity both propping it up and adding vivacity.
