Expert's opinions

(4-2001) A superb effort, the 1998 may be the finest Clerc-Milon I have tasted. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, this is a blockbuster, over-sized offering for this estate. Full-bodied and super-extracted, with power to burn, this rich, concentrated wine

Wonderful nose of fresh strawberries and herbs. Again, fresh strawberries and a touch of dark fruits emerging on the palate. Medium ruby with no sign of age. Medium plus acidity with a weightless feel. Such an easy wine to drink. Still has more to reveal. The last bottle i had was 21 years ago. More power and dark fruit then. Look forward to trying it again in the future. Enjoy now with anything that has black truffles in it.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Strong ruby red, still few tones of age. The nose shows a mix of ripe, dark fruit and tertiary aromas, tobacco, leather, cedar wood and black currants as well as plum aromas compete. Strong on the palate, with still good fruit, the tannins are a bit flaky, not as fine as in younger vintages, giving the wine a somewhat rustic character. The finish has good length, ending with tobacco, dark berries and herbs. This wine currently offers the highest level of drinking pleasure, but definitely needs a piece of meat to accompany it.

Château Clerc Milon
Since 1933, Pauillac, Medoc, the company Baron Philippe de Rothschild is driven by a constant ambition: to make the best wines of the world, each in its category. Castles of its wines, which it manages, as illustrated Chateau Mouton Rothschilds, Premier Cru Classé Pauillac and Château Clerc Milon brilliant mates and Chateau d'Armailhac. Le Clerc Milon Pauillac is a very beautiful, with a beautiful aromatic complexity. Notes of currants, violets, freshly picked berries with a hint of vanilla and mineral are found in the nose and mouth. Le Clerc Milon is well positioned to be among the best vintages of this domain. Generally fairly early, Clerc Milon 1998 is already déliciieux. It seems to be thick and full of substance, with a charm, subtle fragrance intoxicates you with an intense and unparalleled precision. A large open Pauillac. .
