Château Bastor Lamontagne
Until 1710, the Bastor-Lamontagne estate was the property of the King of France, successor in Guyenne to the King of England, whose assets fell into the hands of the King of France. In 1711, the château was bought by Vincent de la Montaigne, Counselor to the Parliament of Bordeaux. However, it was the Larrieu family who dedicated Bastor-La Montagne to its winemaking career. In 1936, it was sold to the Crédit Foncier de France. Only the wines from the best vintages, produced from the finest terroirs and the richest selections, are bottled. Bastor-Lamontagne wines exhibit all the harmony of great Sauternes: lively, they often possess a floral bouquet where honey and acacia flavors mingle. Thanks to their power and complexity, they make ideal wines for aging. On the palate, their balance is remarkable and the concentration is well supported by great aromatic freshness.
