Jancis Robinson March - 2020
Jancis Robinson
0.57 ha in two lieux-dits: Aux Saules and Aux Communes, both of which run in long strips down to the road. 100% whole bunch. Again that slightly greyer cherry red giving it rather a sober appearance. Lightly stemmy/herbal and savoury, more so than scented with fruit in this instance but no lack of fruit. Really light-footed on the palate, so delicate that some might say it is verging on the insubstantial but it is refined and perfectly balanced. Just a little too light on the finish so that the stems are more obvious, though very pure and the winemaking has not falsified the fruit. (JH)

Domaine Arnoux Lachaux

The Domaine Robert Arnoux has existed since 1858 and first belonged to Charles Arnoux. For over fifty years, the estate bore the name of Robert Arnoux (son of Charles Arnoux who succeeded him) before being renamed Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux when his daughter Florence took over the family business.

Since 1995, Florence Arnoux and her husband Pascal Lachaux have been striving to preserve the heritage of their vineyards and produce the best wine from vintage to vintage.

Aware of the richness of their terroir and always in pursuit of excellence, the Arnoux-Lachaux family strives to preserve winemaking traditions: the soils are plowed by a draft horse, harvesting is done by hand, and grape selection is rigorous. Today, the estate identifies with respect for the environment by cultivating its 14.5 hectares of vineyards biodynamically.
