Château Clos René is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Pomerol in Gironde. Clos René is a family estate that has been passed down from generation to generation. Château Clos René produces its wines under the Pomerol appellation, therefore it does not appear in any Bordeaux classifications. With only 15 hectares of vines, the vineyard located west of the Pomerol plateau has a rich terroir with gravelly soils and old sands. The grape varieties are mainly composed of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.

Although not part of any classification, Clos René remains of high quality, particularly due to the consistency of its cuvées. The wines are elegant, oaky, fruity with well-pronounced tannins. You can favor the great Bordeaux vintages such as 1945, 1961, Clos René 1982 or the 1989 vintage. Finally, the Clos René 1990 is remarkable.
