Original feature of the appellation Chateauneuf du Pape: poly-vine. 13 grape varieties are authorized in their different colors: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Picpoul, Terret, Counoise, dormouse, Vaccarese, Picardan, Clairette, Roussanne and bourboulenc. Reds. A Font de Michelle Grenache is king, almost 70% in area planted with this variety. Grenache noir is exceptional when it is harvested at maturity with small yields giving the wine richness, area and typicality. Syrah and Mourvèdre in turn provide a great aromatic complexity and excellent aging potential. Cinsault, Terret, and dormouse Counoise complete this assembly. The red Chateauneuf du Pape Font de Michelle are rich and elegant with aromas of ripe red and black (cherry, currant, raspberry, blackberry) spices (pepper, cinnamon) and with age notes of truffle and bay , leather and blond tobacco. Wines of great care. . White Wines. Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne and bourboulenc up the Chateauneuf du Pape White Font de Michelle. .
