Blood red color. Good intensity. Brilliant. Intense nose, but there is alcohol. Tender and almost sweet attack. Supple, round, rich and flavorful structure. Very well-balanced tannin that lingers long with fruit and nuance. Pleasurable on the palate.

The 1989 La Cabanne has a healthy deep brick colour commensurate with its age. The nose is soft and mushroom-y, nicely defined, fully mature with mulberry, undergrowth and morelles developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins. This is better than a previous bottle I have encountered, not complex but nicely balanced with a light, balsamic finish. Fine.
