Château La Tour Figeac
Château La Tour Figeac was separated from Château La Tour du Pin Figeac in 1881 after both were divided from Château Figeac in 1879. Located east of Château Cheval Blanc and south of Château Figeac, Château La Tour Figeac has 14 hectares of vineyards on a terroir of gravel and clay sands in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. Château La Tour Figeac was purchased in 1973 from François Rapin by a German industrial family, the Rettenmaiers. Otto Maximilian Rettenmaier arrived at Château La Tour Figeac in 1994 and converted the estate to biodynamic farming in 1997. Christine Derenoncourt is the technical director of the château, while her husband Stéphane Derenoncourt acts as a consultant for vineyard management and winemaking.
