La Tâche is a French designation of origin (AOC) which produces Burgundy Grands Crus. La Tâche also has a European protected designation of origin (PDO) label.

Its name comes from an old Burgundy expression “faire une Tâche” which meant cultivating a vine in exchange for a fixed remuneration. Monopoly of the Domaine de la Romanée Conti since 1993, the surface area of ​​the vineyard is only 6 hectares. Le terroir

The Grands Crus of La Tâche are flamboyant and elegant. The wines have aromas of licorice and spices, humus and mushrooms. Wines keep very well, 10 to 20 years on average and more than 50 years for the greatest vintages.

The best vintages of the appellation are : 1937, 1971, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2009. Years 1928, 1929, 1945, 1978 and2005 are the best vintages of the millennium.
