The 1943 vintage in Bordeaux

Wine expert Michael Broadbent had described the 1943 vintage as “the finest of wartime vintages”.

The result is very high quality, rich, fruity red wines. The 1943 Bordeaux red wines are very good. We recommend wines from the Pauillac, Margaux or even Pomerol appellations. Our review about 1943 vintage in Burgundy

In the Bourogne region, we remember the year 1943 as a sunny year. On the whole, Burgundy had good weather conditions with, in particular, a beautiful spring, a superb summer and autumn. A very good year which produced tasty and still very beautiful red wines. The 1943 vintage is therefore very satisfactory for Burgundy.

Among the finest successes of the vintage, we recommend two great Burgundy wines: the Domaine de la Romanée Conti 1943 appellation Romanée Conti and the Domaine de la Romanée Conti 1943 in Richebourg.

As for the white Burgundy wines, the vintage is similar from a meteorological point of view. The quality of white wines and correct and some wines are still very interesting.

1943 Champagnes
