Bourgogne
Noted over a 10-year period, initially tannic but eventually beautifully evolved.
(08-2012) The 1964 Unico contains 35% of Bordeaux varieties. It continues to offer an opulent bouquet with notes of decayed wild strawberry, mandarin, lemon thyme and a faint touch of camphor. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, fleshy tannins. It has wonderful balance and seems to be at its peak. There are notes of leather, allspice, molasses and fresh fig, whilst the tannins are mellow but continue to offer a sturdy chassis. There are vibrant citrus fruits on the finish that ensure the -64 remains exuberant and vivacious.
