Pronounced nose intensity with notes of cooked red fruits, spices, toast. The wine had past its peak and declining. It probably taste better probably 5 years ago. Its still holding well but struggling.

(6-2007). This is a fragile wine that should not be decanted. The nose already seems worn, yet when swirled, floral and anise notes emerge. They are undoubtedly characteristics of the cru. On the palate, the wine seems younger than on the nose. The body is smooth, pleasant, but lacks amplitude. The second part of the palate is more interesting than the first and particularly a little more substantial. Melted tannins. Pleasant, fresh and fruity persistence.

Château Troplong Mondot

Château Troplong-Mondot produces great wines under the Saint-Emilion AOC. It is classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the Saint Emilion classification. The vineyard covers 33 hectares of vines. The Château Troplong-Mondot grape variety composition consists of 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and yields do not exceed 50 hl/ha. The vines have an average age of 35 years.

With great aging potential, the wines are distinguished by their concentration and complexity. Since 1985, Château Troplong Mondot has produced a second wine called: Mondot.
