One of the most stylish and complete wines of the vintage, the 1971 Talbot is now fully mature, but showing no signs of fading. It has good concentration, a lively, berryish, fruity quality, a deft touch of vanillin oakiness, and medium to full body. Very well structured for a 1971, it is without any brown color or soupy softness that afflicts many of the wines of this vintage. The 1971 Talbot is certainly a successful wine from this vintage.
