Red. Ruby and violet. Good intensity. Bright. Clean. Intense and very distinctive with a dominance of cooked fruit. Plum, prune. Clean. Intense. Same register with a hint of freshness but also alcohol. Supple attack developing on a rich and concentrated structure. Slow evolution on a voluminous form towards well-balanced tannins that leave a very long but not very elegant finish.

Château Smith Haut-Lafitte is a 68-hectare wine estate located in Martillac, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. The terroir consists of Günzian gravel, with vines averaging 30 years old. For red wines, the grape composition is 34% Merlot, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. For white wines, it's 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Sémillon. The planting density ranges from 7,500 to 10,000 vines per hectare. The vineyard covers 56 hectares, with 45 hectares for red wine and 11 hectares for white wine.
