Maison Salon Champagne is a French house created in 1920 by Eugène-Aimé Salon. Unlike other Champagnes in the region, the Salon house builds its Champagnes without blending around a single grape variety: Chardonnay.
It was in 1905 that the founder Aimé Salon produced "Le Mesnil-sur-Oger" with a single grape variety: Chardonnay and from a single vintage and vintage: 1905. An emblematic and prestigious wine. Long kept for him it was not until 1920 that he decided to market this wine and founded his estate.
Today, the production of Champagnes is still the same: made with grapes from the best Chardonnay plots for a 100% Chardonnay wine. The Maison Salon still produces a single Champagne from a 1 hectare parcel of "Jardins du Salon" and 19 other parcels of Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Champagnes are kept for ten years in the cellar before revealing their complexity and finesse. During the 20th century, the House will have produced 37 vintages. Among the greatest successes, the House counts the vintages of 1905, 1966, 1995, 1996, 1997 ...
The Maison Salon Champagne in was bought by the Laurent-Perrier group which also owns the Delamotte Champagne house with which Salon shares its premises.

(12-2007) A deep, vinous style, with understated power and grace. The lemon verbena, toast and honey aromas and flavors are propelled by the well-integrated structure and fine bubbles. There's just a hint of greenness, marking its youthful impetuosity. Has great length.
