Information on the vintage 1961 red Burgundy: at best
The growing season started off most encouragingly. A warm spring, with, by May, vegetation well in advance of normal. The difficulties started with an exceptionally long and uneven flowering followed by a poor summer. September was fine and warm the harvest taking place in good conditions from the 25th.The crop was well below average and the quality, though better than originally anticipated.
