Another very successful vintage, the 1989 Prieure-Lichine has a dark garnet color with some amber at the edge. The wine shows full body, soft tannins, and a sweet black currant nose intermixed with notes of licorice, smoked herbs, and tobacco. The wine is very lush, with some heady alcohol and plenty of glycerin. It is quite a seductive, mouthfilling effort from Prieure-Lichine.

(05-2002) Dark red. Medium intensity. Clean. Fruity. Smoky and cherry notes. Very ripe fruit. The attack is faded and flimsy, but the taste is excellent! Very slow tannic evolution on a very refined potential. After, the fruity lacks a bit of tannin, but the finish is long and beautiful. A nice wine.
