Cellar Tracker March - 2024

Dusty dark berries and a typical St Estephe spiciness on the nose. Cloves, pepper, sage, thyme and subtle tertiary flavours such as cedar. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced with well-integrated tannins. Slender to medium body. The wine was present immediately after opening and developed nicely over 1 to 1.5 hours in the glass. After two hours, it slowly faded. Classic mature old school Bordeaux. Excellent

Lovely balance to this wine, with fruit and tannins in the right proportion. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fruity aftertaste.

Very beautiful dark red, good intensity. Slight evolution. Brilliant. Both noses are almost identical. Spicy nuances. Touches of alcohol. Powerful. Caressing palate of normal body. Moderately aromatic and finishing on already melted tannicity and medium length. It's good whilst lacking a bit of general expression. The non-decanted wine finishes a bit more tannic.

This medium bodied red with leather, tobacco notes with firm tannins. Sturdy St-Estephe with moderate length. The wine leans a bit too much on the tannic side with not enough flavour depth.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Consistently open-knit, soft, and pleasant, but essentially one-dimensional and monochromatic, the 1995 Phelan-Segur offers enjoyable fruit in the nose, but it lacks the depth and richness of other top vintages of this well-placed St.-Estephe cru bourgeois.

Mid dark ruby. Mellow meat-and-two-veg nose. Definitely ready to drink, with fully evolved tannins.
